The establishment of Kanikkamatha School in the heart of Palakkad in 1960 marked a significant milestone, realizing the long-cherished dream of the local community.The school was started by a group of CMC sisters with a broad vision, courage and a spirit of sacrifice. The motto "Love and Dedication" still guides us along.

The key objective of starting the school was to provide high quality education to uplift the common people of Palakkad, many of whom were mostly engaged in the agricultural sector and small-scale businesses.

There is no doubt that Kanikkamatha School has been an educational institution that has earned the respect, recognition, and attention of the community since its inception.

I am very happy that in these 65 years, Kanikkamatha School has played a significant role in the development of Palakkad through the collective efforts of Managers, Principals, teachers, students, and parents who carried our legacy forward.

I am proud to say that the alumni of Kanikkamatha School have achieved great success and continue to serve the country in various fields including politics, arts, sports, government and non-government sectors.
